Comparative Analysis of Enterprise Data & COST Conference

Event :  Comparative Analysis of Enterprise Data & COST Conference

Date :  24/09/2010

The 10th Comparative Analysis of Enterprise Data & COST Conference 2010 was held at Imperial College London on 24-26 September 2010. This event was co-sponsored by the UK~IRC and organised on behalf of CAED by UK~IRC Researcher Jonathan Haskel.

The aim of the conference was to promote scientific research using enterprise micro data. The conference was a unique meeting point for producers and users of these data, such as statisticians, economists and econometricians, but also an opportunity for policymakers to get acquainted with the newest research results and policy implications in this rapidly expanding field.

The sessions opened on Friday 24th September with a welcome address by Jonathan Haskel, followed by a Keynote Speech by Beata Javorcik, sponsored by AIM.  Seven parallel sessions were carried out between Friday and Sunday with 4-6 papers per session representing Universities as geographically diverse as Toronto,  Helsinki, Columbia and Oxford. Marks Doms, Chief Economist for the US Department of Commerce also delivered a keynote speech and discussion, sponsored by the OECD.

Further information on the Conference, participants and copies of the programme can be accessed via the Imperial College London website. For enquiries, please email: caedenquiries@imperial.ac.uk

Impact for the UK~IRC

Sponsoring this event was an excellent opportunity for the UK~IRC to support a high-profile academic conference that taps into the research of one of our leading academics. Dr Jonathan Haskel is based at Imperial, the London base of the UK~IRC and our brand and materials were prominently displayed throughout the conference. The UK~IRC was pleased to be associated with an established academic conference and will use this as an opportunity to expand our network.
